Are these false warning from my 'virus' scanner?

There is a screen shot (see url) of what comes up. They come up about 18-20 at a time-- then they stop. If i close them out, they come back again. My virus scanner is avast! and when it does this, the scanner isn't running. In outlook i had 400-600 emails, most were not spam--but some were. Now they are totally gone except for about 60. However, none of the ones that were deleted match the subjects that these windows say.

I cannot perform system restore either.

Is there a program I should try to remove it? avast! apparently isnt catching it. I've run a virus scan over every drive in my computer.

Give this a try

Update your anti-spyware software.

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security... [if you do not have one]

or

http://www.superantispyware.com/superant... [free home edition]

Restart your PC in safe mode

And run a full scan with both your anti-virus and anti-spyware.

You may also want to have a look at your start up items by using msconfig.

Be careful with the items you uncheck, you can have a look here to see if they are necessary
