How do i remove Win32: Maha-I trojan??

I've already used adware and spyware cleaners like SpyBot Search and Destroy %26 Ad-Aware 2007... these hav not worked.... I also hav Avast Antivirus and I've done a regular thorough scan %26 a boot time scan and that didnt work... They'll show %26 they'll even delete or try and repair the infected file, but everytime i restart my pc it still shows up on the avast on access scanner... so anyone who has had experience with this virus please help

This is not a problem at all. Here's what you need to do.

1st, don't waste your time with AVG, true sword, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, superantispyware, avast, panda, kaspersky, spyware blaster, bitdefender, spyware guard, windows defender or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.

2nd, You need some of the best software out there. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. I wouldn't recommend Norton Internet security, its not that great. Now the best software you should get is Webroot AntiVirus With AntiSpyware %26 Firewall, formally known as Webroot's Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. This is Elite software. It blocks over 510,000 definition threats, which contain multiple fringerprints with each(you can do the math). No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. It catches everything: viruses, spyware, adware, malware, root kits, keyloggers, trojans, worms, and anything else. It also has active shields and a Firewall which learns from your useage. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none.

Virus/Hijacker? Help!!!!?

My computer was fine one minute and a mess the next.

1) When I try to install anything (such as avast), it won't let me. The installer opens but then closes after five seconds.

2) Internet explorer keeps shutting down from errors

3) When I right click on a link so it will open in another window, it opens a completely different link than the one I wanted.

If anyone knows of any free programs I can use or how I can fix it so I can t lea get avast to install or anything I can do, please let me know. I am desperate!

I used spybot and superantispyware and that got rid of my problem.

You need to go to the start menu鈥?. "my computer" add/remove hardware and see if any programs have been added that you are not aware of.

On your browser Go to tools...... internet option...... delete cookies 鈥︹€?delete files and all offline content

There's so many virus' out there, I'd copy what's vital to a disk or flash drive, and format and reinstall windows. Only way to be 100% sure.
Try to download ad-aware, install and scan in safe mode or try another choises in safe mode
This is a good example of why having proper protection in place from the start is so vitally important.

get the mccafe virus scan 2007, they scan all trojan horse and other virus...i have it and my computer is completely safe

Fix my computer?

I have a new Compaq Evo with XP Pro. the kids picked a virus and now the computer freezes on the blue compaq screen. I tried to install avast anti virus. When I restarted my real problems began. I tried to start computer in safe mode. It freezes in the safe mode with a black screen and safe mode in the four corners. I tried to run from last known good config and it still freezes. I tried to use the recovery point but no luck. I'm emailed Avast 4 times for help and have not got even one reply back. Does anyone know of any solutions other than starting from nothing. I don't have the recovery cd to run from. HELP!!!!!!!!!!! It was only a month old and now it is useless.

I'm sorry, but if you can't even boot up your computer, there is no hope. The only option you have is to reinstall your computer. There should be a disk come with your computer that can reinstall the computer. Try every disk that come with the computer.

Do you know how to reinstall? Put your Windows disk in right after the computer start to boot and select boot option to CD by pressing F8 key on keyboard (usually F8 but you should see which key to press at the bottom of your screen when the computer start up or just try to press F1 to F12 randomly) before the Windows XP screen come up. Follow the instruction on the screen.

If there is not a CD that can reinstall it, I recommend you to contact the store where you bought the computer or contact Compaq, because there should be some warranty on the computer.

Avast! alerted me they found the virus...which is found in the System Volume Information of my C hard drive and I can't seem to delete it (manually). Avast! can't delete it as well 'cause the archive is not supported

That would suggest that it is in the System Restore volumes. Disable System Restore, reboot, then re-enable System Restore when you log back on. Run another AVAST scan to make sure it is clean. See reference below:

one of my friends told me to get AVG and uninstall McAfee so I did this and AVG installed and then I downloaded a virus when looking for animation software my computer started acting weird I keep getting system warnings AVG found it and said it couldn't do anything about it so I kept tryying but it didn't work then I uninstalled it and got Avast! that didn't work either as we speak the virus is destorying my computer AVG and Avast! are terrible I'm thinking of getting Norton as my friend has it and it worked very well for him

AVG has proven itself to be a mediocre performer at best. Missing almost 20%, while trying to detect known malware, in some tests. Not to mention almost non-existent heuristic detection and infrequent "once-a day" updates.

Your computer memory is a little low. so installing antivirus like Norton,mcaffee will further slow it! This is also in the case of Kaspersky Antivirus! It will not work good with such low memory! So my option is Trend Micro Pc-cillin Antivirus or Trend Micro Pc-cillin Internet Security! which will work better!

Upgrade Your RAM to 256 atleast to yield better results!

Both Kaspersky and Trend Secure|Trend micro pc-cillin are good Antiviruses! But Kasp. has slightly better security and virus protection than Trend Micro but requires a huge amount of RAM (lesser than Norton) which trend does,nt!

You can Try AVG Antivirus or Security (Very powerful and requires very less space and memory) it's an award winning AV and really effective!

And Bitdefender ( no.1 Antivirus since 2006) but i dont like it because it block everything i want to download from net and do many other annoying things but has superb technology and 100% Effective and easy to use!
