I have a demo version of Ascentives' Spyware Striker that has found 2 things on my computer, but it would cost me a membership fee I can't afford to rid my computer of them. I've tried MacAfee, Spyware Terminator, and Avast, ontop of trying to find them manually, but the only thing that finds it is Spyware Striker and I can't get rid of them.
The two things are:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE|software\microsoft\...
(it says its an Adware/Dialer/Spyware/unclassified and has the name Ezula above it)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT|aspfile\persistentha...
(it says its an Adware/trojan/unclassified/Downloader/Ho... and has the name ISTBar (Integrated Search Technologies) above it)
Please, if you know how to get rid of these, help me, or let me know if they are not serious problems.
How do I search manually, or what program could I get for free, to rid a comp of something?abtuvurys 2005
Get SPYBOT: Search %26 Destroy from http://www.safer-networking.org (a guaranteed genuine Anti-Spyware product).
There's a blacklist of rogue / suspect Anti-spyware products available, but ain't looked to see if the one you mentioned is on it:
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti...
But now I've looked, Spyware Striker is listed among these dodgy products.
