I've been running Avast! antivirus, and it's found a virus which it's recomended I put into the virus chest. I tried to, but it said "Accses denied. Cannot process file" It's a .CAB file, and I'm on Win ME if that makes any difference.

open "my documents"--- (your docs that is lol).
then "click-tools-and folder options" and "view". then select "view hidden files".
try running the anti-virus prog again. if it can't delete it, you should look for information of it's whereabouts. then you can search for it in windows (search hidden files must be enabled in the search-field). other things are scandisk, defrag drive etc. good luck.
i'm on xp at the moment and can't remember all i knew about me. did you say you used scandisk yet?. i'd say, short of inserting the boot disk and re-installing- if it gives you no problems i would ignore it. some programs arent recognised by all virus checkers and are considered viruses. i wish i could fix it for you. sorr.
