My computer had a weird virus?

ok i donwloaded AVAST! and it works ok. but i still have a virus on my comp. what can i do? It seems to affect my internet explorer when i go to like games.com. it will freeze and something pops up and says "internet explorer has incountered a problem and needs to close now". HELP!!

first. don't get rid of avast, it's better than avg.

try updating your ie installation or changing to firefox. If this still doesn't solve the problem schedule a boot time scan with avast. this should pick up any virus on your system if there is one.

yes, get an antivirus program like AVG and get Ad-Aware for spyware, both are free
That isn't a virus, stupid. Internet Explorer needs to be reinstalled. Not every computer error is a virus.
personally i think AVAST is bad. AVG is ok, but norton is the best.

is AVAST showing a virus? or its just the IE error? it could be IE, or the website.
first of all use firefox

and then download avg
i would recommend going to yahoo search and search for avg antivrus it is free. update that and run it. it should locate any viruses bothering you. i dont recommend using firefox becuase its harder for tech support guys to help you with.

Is AVAST detecting the virus? If yes, does the file path indicate that it is in your system restore files? If yes, disable System Restore, reboot and re-emable System Restore.

As for the games, that could be a separate issue. Many games require a lot of system resources so a lack of RAM could be a mitigating factor.
