I have tried to intall it it installs but at the end it says internet explorer 7 cannot be installed

WHY?

Well, personally I haven't bothered using IE for years, much prefer Mozilla/FireFox.

I have a few options for you to try.

option 1: Get a pc magazine with a free dvd (pc gamer / dvd gamer / pc format / pc plus etc) on the free cd/dvd with the magazine should have the latest IE on it.

option 2: go to the Microsoft website (main website not updates) and search for then download the IE7 from its page.

option 3: go to updates.microsoft.com or microsoft.com/updates and look for the latest IE there.

option 4: go to http://www.mozilla.org/ and get yourself FireFox.

it could just turn out that the download you have has got corrupted in some way.
