What can I do ? Virus on computer !?

Hi I posteed a question a yesterday about a virus, I could not get rid of it with Norton as norton was telling me that it was a dialer generic virus, I thought I would try another form of security so I downloaded Avast and it detected the Virus and it said its from the Nutcracker family. The thing is now I am totally panicking as this type of virus apprantly disguises its self so the file it said it was in, it might not be if you know what I mean.

Im panicking now because I looked up about Nutcracker viruses is that you can only get rid of it by taking off everything on your computer, I think its called formatting or something. Im also upset because I can even really back up all my pictures or music files as they could be infected and if after getting it all sorted I put them back on it might re infect my pc. Im really upset because there was pictures on here from my wedding this year.

It does look like formating the pc will be the best way to go if the usual antivirus programs can't remove it.

Depending on exactly what the virus does it could have easily infected many of your normal files and this infection can be passed on if you back up the files and put them back on the pc after a format %26 reinstall of windows.
