Good free sercurity softwear I can download ?

Hi I have a virus on my computer its a dialer generic virus and I cannot locate the file or even delete it, Norton detected it but cant remove it and my AVG didnt even detect it. I have been given Avast Winrar, but I dont have a clue how to use it, the person who gave me it says it should scan straight way but it doesnt, so I might leave using that one.

I have been recommended ewido but when I went to there site it just said its the new name for AVG which I already have.

When I eventually find one that says it free it scans but then says I have to buy it to get all the viruses gone that are on my computer which I think is just a con.

So if you know any decent ones please let me know thatnks.

I have tried all there is to get this off my computer, I looked on the symantec website on how to remove a dialer generic and all the methods dont work, so maybe another for of internet security might work.

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/... On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps.
