Quick, seen it all before, MS Windows XP question?

Hello, my internet explorer icon has gone, its not anywhere in my start menu and every time I want to search the web I need to do it thru windows explorer- its drivin me mad. Just seems its getting harder for me to surf the web with each attempt.

Is it a virus? I use Zone Alarm and Avast and Crap Cleaner.

please tell me I dont need to rebuild pc again??? Best answer will be chosen thank you so much

Quick, seen it all before, MS Windows XP question?antivirus scan

In IE, under the tools menu entry, Choose "Internet Options".

Click the tab marked: "Advanced"

Find the "Show Internet Explorer on the Desktop" entry in the "Browsing" section.

Check the box.

Click the OK button.

Now the official icon and not a shortcut has been restored

Or try this:

Right click on any open area of the Desktop %26gt; Select Properties %26gt; Select Desktop tab %26gt; Select Customize Desktop button %26gt; Select General tab %26gt; In the Desktop Icons section place a checkmark next to Internet Explorer %26gt; Click Ok.

copy the icon from ur windows explorer and paste it on the desktop.....then drag it to the start menu.......u will get it

frankly speaking ...i do not know why it happened but then also i do not think it is due to some viruses.

Zone alarm and avast is fully ok ........they are pretty good and crap cleaner is also very good....
hey did u use a search . IE cannot disappear just like that.Try downloading and installing IE7. It may auto detect.

And Mozilla Firefox is the best . It is faster than IE
