I had a couple of software app (zipped files, exec files etc) on my flash drive. i used the flash on another system that apparently was infected. This virus bundled up all the software in the flash and replicated itself within folders. The icon is likened to a regular folder icon but on a closer look, has ruffled edges. It is also an application file.
The question now are these: "If it can be eliminated successfully, will I get all my files back?" and "How in God's name can this be done?"
I use Avast (It's freeware with a license that will expire in a few months). It detected it as a virus, moved it to chest but it is still in the flash. I had to delete the files thru CLI, DOS.
I'll apprciate it if my files can be recovered intact.
