Is my computer safe?

i have a linksys router and also i have windows firewall on only

allowing frostwire and instant message exceptions. I dont use

other firewalls because they are a big hassle, and i use avast

for viruses , avg anti rootkit, and cyber defender and spysweeper for spyware. is that good enough.

NO....I am not a computer expert by any means, but I have the same stuff on my computer plus a fire wall. Someone has hacked into my bank account and has stolen over $3000.00 from me in the last two months... talk about a pain in the keister!!!! Now I have to deal with the bank, and all the merchants since they have ALL of my personal information *I was a big Internet shopper. I would just be really careful, and personally I will NEVER buy anything on line again. I will call the company directly. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else...

is it XP's firewall or Vista's. I heard Vista's is ok behind a router.
That sounds perfectly OK! The router will act as a firewall as well so hackers will find it difficult to penetrate your system. Remember, however, not to share your entire hard drive when using file sharing programs as hackers may be able to obtain personal information from your computer. For added piece of mind against viruses you can also use web-based virus scanners. Many of the main anti-virus software producers provide these free of charge on their websites.

It sounds good to me but one thing the windows firewall is not very good, i would download zone alarm or some other type of firewall.
That should be good enough for the home user - just keep your AV, Spyware, and firewall definitions up to date.

If you were a corporation though - we could add in more and more.
Get a better firewall - the wiindows one is about as good as a chocolate fireguard!
